Thank you for visiting Harp and Lion Antiques & Vintage, Listowel.

Hello from Antony (Tony) Jones and Claire O’Carroll. Antony’s father owned an antique shop. Naturally, Antony spent hours learning the trade. Claire spent twelve years in Bournemouth. She studied at the local university. She developed an interest in vintage, decorating her flat on a student budget.

Antony and Claire returned to Ireland in 2007 and settled in Listowel. In 2016 they bought the historic Harp and Lion building in Church Street – and so Harp and Lion Antiques and Vintage, Listowel came to be.

They sell a large range of antiques and vintage, from traditional antique furniture to upcycled and re-purposed items including painted furniture and our lamps made out of old instruments, tools and other interesting, decorative items.  An eco-friendly ethos is at the heart of what they do – buying antique and vintage is the ultimate in recycling. As well as this, antiques appreciate in value with age.

There is also a range of good quality reproduction items and an ever expanding range of eco-friendly and ethical homewares like Savon de Marseille soaps, Weaver Green textiles, Shared Earth homeware and Autentico chalk paints to mention a few.

The Harp and Lion is located at number 44 Church Street, Listowel. The building takes its name from the decorative plasterwork on the facade, the work of local builder, plasterer and craftsman Pat McAuliffe (1846 – 1921) whose work can be seen on many buildings in Listowel and Abbeyfeale. The Harp and Lion was Pat McAuliffe’s last major work, completed c.1914.
