About Us

We are Antony (Tony) Jones and Claire O’Carroll.  Antony is originally from Bournemouth, England where his father owned an antique shop; Antony spent many hours in the shop learning the trade.  Claire is originally from Caherdaniel, South Kerry; she spent twelve years in Bournemouth where, while studying at the local university, she developed an interest in all things vintage while decorating her flat on a student budget!

We returned to Ireland in 2007 and settled in Listowel.  In 2016 we bought the historic Harp and Lion building in Church Street – and Harp and Lion Antiques and Vintage was born.

We sell a wide range of antiques and vintage, from traditional antique furniture to upcycled and re-purposed items including painted furniture and our lamps made out of old instruments, tools and other interesting, decorative items.  An eco friendly ethos is at the heart of what we do – buying antique and vintage is the ultimate in recycling, and an added bonus is that antiques improve with age!

We also sell a small range of of good quality reproduction items and an ever expanding range of eco friendly and ethical homewares including:

  • Savon de Marseille soaps
  • Weaver Green textiles
  • Shared Earth homeware
  • Autentico chalk paints
